Academic Regulations

In addition to the general university academic regulations, undergraduate students in the Industrial Engineering program must adhere to the following specific rules:

  • The minimum passing grade for any core or specialized course taken as a guest student at another university is 12.
  • Urmia University of Technology Industrial Engineering students studying as guests at other universities are only permitted to take courses that are listed in the official curriculum of the Urmia University of Technology Industrial Engineering Department.
  • Students are not permitted under any circumstances to take a course outside this approved curriculum list. If they do so, the course will not be counted toward their degree requirements.
  • The number of specialized (elective) courses listed in the tables exceeds the required amount to provide students with a range of choices.
  • The minimum total credits required for graduation is 142 units.
  • Students may take courses in a semester different from the suggested plan, provided they have completed the necessary prerequisites and based on their passed credits.
  • Specialized courses, whether obligatory or elective, cannot be taken as "Directed Study" (Introducing to Professor) unless the student has taken the course at least once before and failed.
  • Theoretical specialized courses that include a project, as determined by the course instructor, cannot be taken as a "Directed Study."
  • Students who were guest students at other universities and wish to apply for guest status again must submit their grades from the previous semester. Otherwise, their guest student request will not be approved.
  • In the case of a medical withdrawal from a course, the number of credits dropped will be deducted from the maximum credit load allowed for the student in the following semester.
