3. Mechanical engineering at Urmia University of Technology (UUT)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the first faculties established at Urmia University of Technology. It began admitting students in the field of Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Solid Mechanics in both regular and evening programs in 2006 (1385 in the Iranian calendar). In 2008, the department introduced the Fluid Mechanics specialization, and in 2011, it started admitting students in the general field of Mechanical Engineering without a specific specialization. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been admitting graduate students since 2009 for the Master’s program and since 2012 for the Ph.D. program in the Energy Conversion field. Currently, it also admits Master’s students in other specializations.
