According to the report of university’s public relations, the board of directors of Yüzüncü Yıl
University of Turkey visited Urmia University of Technology to start cooperation and sign a
memorandum of cooperation in various scientific and research fields.
In this meeting, Dr. Mokhtarian, the president of the university, while welcoming, introduced
Urmia University of Technology as the only University of Technology of the province and
addressed the capacities of this university for bilateral cooperation.
In addition, Professor Murat Kayri, Vice Chancellor for Education and Research of Yüzüncü Yıl
University, expressed his satisfaction for attending the university and added: "I am very happy
to be with my academic colleagues at Urmia University of Technology and we are very pleased
to be able to establish various bilateral cooperation with Urmia University of Technology."
These collaborations can be in different fields, including holding scientific seminars and
conferences, holding different courses with the presence of university professors, organizing
various scientific tours for professors and students.
It should be noted that Yüzüncü Yıl University was established by Law No. 41 on July 20, 1982.
This university continues its academic activities with 26,857 students, 140,430 graduates, 1,681
faculty members, 3,848 administrative staff, 19 faculties, 51 research centers and 48 student
associations and is located 15 kilometers from the center of Van city and around Lake Van.
